Snellville Library On the Move

Way back in 2017, Snellville Mayor Tom Witts and Gwinnett County Chairwoman Charlotte Nash signed an agreement to move the Elizabeth H Williams branch of the county library to the new Town Center. The county’s news release stated, “Gwinnett Chairman Charlotte Nash and Snellville Mayor Tom Witts  signed an intergovernmental agreement Tuesday to work together on the design of a new branch library and city market building as part of the city’s Towne Center project. The signing ceremony followed adoption of the agreement by the Board of Commissioners.

The new location is just a few days away from opening, and is a major improvement from the old library located at Briscoe Park. Like all new county libraries, this one will offer audio and video production capabilities along with 3D printing and other great things for the community such as loaning library cardholders a Chromebook laptop computer. Parking for the library is available in the city’s new parking deck which is right next door..

Gwinnett County libraries also offer programs to encourage kids to read. By reading 5 or more books, they can get a free ticket to events like Monster Jam and Disney on Ice.

On the floor above the library is a Thrive co-working space. Also coming to The Grove are some restaurants and retail stores. Recently announced businesses include Park Side District restaurant, MarbleSlab Creamery and Great American Cookie and a nail salon and spa.
