Councilman Bobby Howard Will Not Seek Re-Election

I have to admit I was a little surprised to hear that Councilman Bobby Howard has decided not to run for re-election. You can see the affects of his hard  work and dedication in the last 6 years of positive growth in Snellville through the Community Garden, the Farmers Market and of course the infamous Cop-Cab, although these are but a small part of the great positive impact he has had on our city.

One thing that I see when I think of a good friend is the commitment, love and dedication he has always shown for family and friends. This can be seen in his love for Reese and Nash, his beautiful grand children.

Here are the remarks Bobby made last night at the City Council meeting:

Tonight I made a very tough decision to not seek re-election as a City Council Member in Snellville, GA. and while my council comments are a little lengthy, I thought I would share them to show my appreciation to everyone who has been a part of this journey with me….

Council Comments….

First a few things… How ya’ll doing? Shop Local and Thanks for allowing me to serve you and sit in this seat…

and now for the rest of my council comments…. My first acknowledgement will be to give THANKS to My Savior Jesus Christ, who through his blessing I live daily.

With the same care and consideration that was taken before I decided to run for city council…I have taken that same care and consideration when making the decision not to seek re-election in November. Tonight’s announcement will provide the current administration 16 weeks prior to qualifying to find a candidate.

I will forever cherish and be grateful for these past six years. This experience has taught me more than I could have ever imagined. The people I have met and the places I have been have made it a trip of a lifetime….

I leave at the end of my term , a city in good and capable hands. I also rest in the comfort that by being a small part of the past 6 years, our city has made marked and positive improvement in many areas.
